Interview with Nancy Feeman,
 Clothing Merchandizing/Retail Sales

Nancy Freeman is from Walker, Minnesota. She is in her fifth year of ownership in Lundrigan's Clothing in Walker, Nisswa and Bemidji.

Q. Why did you choose to do this for a living?
A. I started as a sales person, so retail and doing displays has been part of my life. I went to school for design, and ended up taking ownership.

Q. What Family and Consumer Science Classes could a student take to benefit this occupation?
A. Take a Fashion Design class to learn about different fashions and trends. Take a Sewing class to learn the different characteristics of fabrics to pass on to the consumer. Take a Consumer Education class to learn about the demands of the consumer.

Q. How does your career relate to Family and Consumer Sciences?
A. You work with fashions, trends, fabrics and consumers, which are all part of Family and Consumer Sciences.

Q. What leadership skills do you use at work on a daily basis?
A. Communication skills, responsibility, respect for employees and knowledge of product.

Q. What would you say is the best part of your career?
A. Traveling to go to market and find merchandise, and the reward of positive comments from the consumers.
