STOP THE VIOLENCE

  
Are you ready to take on prevention? 
You can stop the violence and make the peace!
    

STOP THE VIOLENCE is a peer-to-peer outreach initiative that empowers young people to recognize, report and reduce the potential for youth violence. This program provides young people with attitudes, skills and resources to address youth violence prevention.

The program works with the national FCCLA organization STOP the Violence (Students Taking on Prevention) program. 
  
Individual Project Classroom Project After School Project
Complete a project for Peace It Together with your family. Complete a project in a Family and Consumer Science class.
  
Participate in the state trainings and conduct a chapter project as an extra curricular activity.

Project Ideas
 
  • Do  presentations for class and community groups
  • Invite speakers and/or organize an assembly on stopping the violence
  • Conduct a survey on violence and peace making  
  • Make "Stop The Violence" announcements at school

 

  • Do community outreach by working with your community on violence prevention
  • Organize a "Make the Peace" lock-in
  • Conduct a Peace Week.
  • Set up a Peace It Together booth at    parent/ teacher conferences and hand out information  
State STOP Goals
  • Conduct Training for chapter teams in July and November
  • 30 schools participate in the STOP training sessions.
  • State Executive Council members participate in Peace Jam with a Nobel Laurette.
