Japanese Exchange Program
  

Here is an opportunity to live in Japan next summer with a Japanese host family.  You can be one of 20 Family, Career and Community Leaders of America members selected to experience a Japanese tea ceremony, traditional Japanese foods, or a climb up Mount Fuji.  It will be a summer you never forget.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America and Youth for Understanding International Exchange provide scholarships for a four-six week summer program to Japan, which is sponsored by the Kikkoman Corporation.

Eligibility
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America members need to be in their sophomore or junior year in high school to apply for the Summer Scholarship to Japan.  Scholarships are funded by the Kikkoman Corporation and administered by Youth For Understanding International Exchange. You must be an affiliated member of FCCLA.

Application
Members interested in applying for the 2002 Japanese Exchange Program must request an application from Youth for Understanding in writing.

All completed applications are to be sent to YFU. Include your chapter's FCCLA affiliation form for verification and a fee.

Youth for Understanding International Exchange, a non-profit international exchange organization, is based on the premise that international understanding can be achieved through individuals. Its programs stress family living as the core of the overseas learning experience. The opportunity to experience the day-to-day life of another country and its people enhances students' awareness of international issues.
